ARCHIVING POLICY

Archiving is a digital preservation process that can be seen as the set of activities that ensure the information currently existing in digital formats is backed up and distributed to guarantee continued access for the long term. The digital content of Bima Journal of Elementary Education (BIJEE) is precious, and measures are in place to ensure its current accessibility and long-term preservation. The preservation policy includes the following steps:

  • Website archiving
  • Abstracting/Indexing services
  • Self-archiving

Website Archiving and Indexing

BIJEE is registered and archived through several abstracting/indexing services and databases, including Google Scholar, Crossref, Dimensions, Garuda (Garba Rujukan Digital), Scilit, and ROAD (Directory of Open Access Scholarly Resources). Every published article is assigned a permanent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through Crossref, which ensures a persistent and citable link to the article even if the journal's website structure changes over time.

The Impact of Archiving Your OA Journal Articles

  • Long-term availability and accessibility of research work to relevant audiences and readers.
  • It helps minimize or eliminate the risk of digital decay of valuable information by preserving content for a long time.
  • In the event of a disaster, data retrieval from archive storage is easy. Archived copies of the journal can be recovered and made accessible to the public if the original output is lost or removed from the publication platform.
  • The more archives an article is submitted to, the higher the chances of the journal's discovery and visibility.
  • When articles are published, authors can self-archive the accepted manuscript on their personal website and in their funder's or institutional repositories for public release.
  • Authors retain the copyright to their articles. Therefore, they can self-archive their accepted manuscripts as well as their published manuscripts.

Self-Archiving Rights

There is no embargo on archiving articles published by BIJEE under the Open Access category. Authors are permitted to deposit such articles in institutional, non-commercial repositories and on personal websites immediately after publication on the journal website. This is carried out under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License (CC BY 4.0).

All articles published in Bima Journal of Elementary Education (BIJEE) are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution License, which permits unrestricted archiving, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided that the original work is properly cited.
